Our State-of-the-Art Facilities
As a Fixed-Base Operator out of North Perry Airport, we have been able to develop a cutting-edge facility, Training Devices, spacious briefing areas, library, area for self-preparation, classrooms, and a 14,000 square foot maintenance facility. [[Insert pictures of facilities]]
Our goal is to provide all of the tools necessary for our students to get the experience they need and ensure that our instructors can focus on teaching.
We are a Fixed-Base operator out of North Perry Airport in Hollywood, Florida which has four lit, paved runways (with the longest coming in at 3,350 feet/1,021 meters). This provides our students with multiple benefits. Logistically, we are equidistant between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL), giving our students easy access to our facility – no matter where they are coming from around the world.
Being just off the Gulf Stream, South Florida’s weather patterns are remarkably consistent with a significant amount of warning before bad weather enters the area. This gives us the ability to maximize our flight times and provides our students with a relatively controlled environment that enables them to gain experience quickly.
Students do not have to fly long distances to practice their skills. There is a large practice area just to the west of the airfield to practice maneuvers and several other airfields are within a short distance. The State of Florida is your practice area. The high density of air traffic in Florida helps students prepare for the busy world of commercial aviation. The Florida environment is a great one in which to train, as it gets a wide variety of weather. We train our students to know when it’s safe to takeoff and to how to operate in various weather conditions. This exposure helps prepare them for what they will encounter as airline pilots after their training is complete.
This primarily campus location offers a wonderful climate with miles of beautiful beaches.
South Florida in general and our close location to Hollywood, Miami and the vicinity – offers you all that you need, from Beaches & Parks, Casino, Shopping and Community Events, Hospitals & Urgent Care Centers, the best weather in the world and the fantastic Miami night life.

In a family environment like the one at Pelican, sharing cultures becomes an essential factor that allows our students to interact with one another, diversify and grow, perhaps opening doors to unimaginable future careers. Networking and knowing how to relate with people from different cultures gives that extra edge that not every pilot has the priviledge to experience and learn. Pelican Flight school is a bilingual school, as our students learn in an English speaking environment, and we do have many Spanish speaking instructors and pilots.
